1. 7/28 workout: baby crocodiles & takedowns

2 hours mma ground and pound.
    1.5 hours kayaking.
So I’m super glad I took yesterday off, because today was sortof brutal.
Saturday mma practices are also pretty rough, but I did a hell of a lot of straight grappling and takedowns.
Oh and pulled a muscle in my abdomen. It hurts to move a lot :(
Had a protein shake, then headed to go kayak for awhile.
A freaking baby croc swam up next to the kayak and I shit you not, lunged towards us. I paddled the hell out of there, omg.
Also visited the nutritionist again, and he’s worried about my calorie intake because I’ve been so active, and tweaked my supplement plan to account for these long workout days.
Anyways, I’m exhausted, off to bed for me.

  2. 7/11 WOD

3 Hours MMA- muay thai, grappling, and free-roll.

My muay thai teacher kept randomly coming up and kicking me, because he thinks I’m a “wuss”.

    Bitch, please.

So, as a result of it, and my efforts to prove him wrong, I am now rather bruised. Especially on the back of my knee where he caught me in a pretty vicious sweep.

200 Tyson Squats have obliterated my thighs.

And I rebruised my still swollen elbow, for the third time in a row. This thing will never heal.

Anyways, back to the beachhouse tomorrow, I was just in town for tonight and tomorrow for work.

There’s a super strong current, so fighting that has been a workout, plus I’m taking my kayak to the house tomorrow, and will hopefully get that in.

    Night, guys!

  3. 7/7 WOD

    2.5 Hours MMA Grappling

Today was a pretty rough practice, not gonna lie. Sat out the last half hour as I landed and rolled weird on my neck while grappling, resulting in a nasty crunch. Also took an accidental elbow to the face so my nose is seriously hurting.

Worked on a lot of takedowns, which is always rough because all my training partners are so much bigger, and often much stronger, than I am. But, it’s just going to make me better.

Had an interesting conversation with the Muay Thai coach who said that Tina (a female amature fighter that trains there) and I are unlike his girl students at a different gym because we aren’t afraid to roll and train with guys. We aren’t timid, we “just go for it”.

Apparently it’s not normal or something for a girl to be completely comfortable rolling and training with guys?

Oh well, those girls don’t know what they’re missing out on.

My face and neck hurt like hell, and I’ve got a headache to boot, so I’m off to bed.

    Night yall.

  5. Day 13

Well kayaking got rained out by horrid thunderstorms, but got in 2 hours of straight grappling and mma today.
I’ve also got vicious bruises to show for it, as we were working on takedowns against the cage walls.
So, both shoulders, my ass (yeah, weird) and one of my elbows have dark multicolor bruises and bumps.
Plus scratches from the gloves or something. I really don’t know how. But they’re everywhere.
And that’s in addition to my currently almost completely bruised outter thigh from muay thai on Wednesday.
In other words, I look like I was hit by a truck.
Possibly kayaking tomorrow, but watching for the weather. Crazy training schedule next week, I’m adding running and some cycling back in.
Anyways, time to try and find a comfortable position to sleep in.
It’s all worth it for the sport I love.
    Goodnight y’all.

  9. Workout of the day

    2 hours wrestling/grappling.
Coach is out with staph, so the muay thai/bjj teacher taught it. He put a big emphasis on technique over power today, which worked out perfectly!
    Tired, massage time.

  10. 5/2 WOD

I forgot to put this yesterday, but I got in 2 hours of ground and pound MMA class, finished off with a cardio push called Hulk Hundreds and 300 crunches.
Also crunched my neck good while grappling.
    Good workout though!

  11. 5/1/12 WOD

Got in 1.5 hours of BJJ/Wrestling at Submission.

My coach has determined that my “move” will be the armbar. Ronda Rousey style.

Had some fantastic submissions, and it felt pretty good to grapple.

But, I also skinned my foot open again. Life of a fighter haha.

Anyways, I just drank 2 qts of gatorade and I’m headed to bed.

    Night guys <3
